Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 And Max M2 : Complete Analysis in Details

February 23, 2019

Asus finally launched the successor of Max Pro M1 which is the latest Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2. Along with that the company also launched a lighter variant known as Max M2. Both the phones are going to be Flipkart exclusive.

There are two variants of the Max M2 - one is 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM priced at Rs 9,999 and the second one 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM priced a little bit higher at Rs 12,999. Its sale is starting from 20th December available through Flipkart. On the other hand, there are three variants of Max Pro M2 - one is 3GB RAM and 32GB priced at Rs 12,999, second is 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM available at Rs 14,999 and the final variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM comes for Rs 16,999.

The thing that makes these two smartphones different from others in this price range is that both of them have Corning Gorilla Glass 6 which can survive many drops unlike other phones and it is basically found in flagship grade phones. So these phones will give a tough competition to Realme U1 and Realme 2 Pro as they come in the same price range.

Design

Both the phones have notches at the top which contains a lot of components like flash, notification light, earpiece, and other sensors. The notch is not much wider, unlike the Pixel 3 XL which looks ugly. Talking about the display, it is 19:9 ratio full immersive display so you can watch movies and play games without any problem. The back is though not made of glass but it looks premium as if it is glass and it does not even have fingerprints when you hold it. At the rear side, there is dual camera setup with a LED flash for taking snaps.

Display

The Max Pro M2 has a 6.26 FHD+ display IPS LCD with screen resolution 2280x1080. Though the display is great in all terms like sharpness, clarity and brightness but one con of it is the thick chin at the bottom. You also get the option of night mode which reduces the blue tint from display to reduce eye strain at night.

Performance

The Max M2 sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset which is a powerful processor and easily handle many tasks. As both the phones have Stock Android so the Snapdragon 632 will give smooth and fluent experience. Under this, if you want to do multi-tasking in it or just browse through different pages on the chrome, there is no problem like hang or lag. On the other hand, you can easily play Asphalt 9 and PUBG Mobile. However, the Max Pro M2 has got a more powerful processor which is the Snapdragon 660 which works like a beast but sadly it is a bit underclocked at 1.9 GHz.
As the phones have got stock Android so there is nothing to worry about bloatware unlike other UIs so the phones are much faster, smoother and better. Let's talk about the gaming performance of the Max Pro M2 as it has the Snapdragon 660 it can easily handle games like PUBG and Hitman and there are no chances of heating issues as the phone is properly optimized for gaming.
Camera
Asus Max Pro M2 smartphone is equipped with a dual rear camera setup, in which there is a 12MP primary sensor and the second is a secondary sensor of 5MP, with the exceptionally f 1.8 aperture and 1.25-micron pixel size accuracy. It has a 13MP front camera for selfie and video calling. This smartphone can record videos up to 4K and for video stabilization, the company has also given EIS. You also get AI scene detection feature for different scenes. The front camera has too got EIS along with LED flashlight in low light photography. And in these phones, the cameras are really improved as compared to the Max Pro M1 and the pictures have more detail, clarity, and accuracy.

Battery

The Max M2 has a battery of 4000mAh and it can run easily for one and a half day with normal usage. Our daily use includes watching movies, listening to music, playing calls, web browsing, emailing and playing games. And the Max Pro M2 has got a much bigger battery of 5000mAh which can last for more than two days. Even after having a big battery the phone is quite compact and lightweight.
